The male Goliath Birdwing is the largest male butterfly in the world. Though dwarfed by its drab, brown female counterpart, only the male sports such vibrant colors.
As an internationally protected species, only captive-bred individuals resulting from propagation programs are used.
Though rarely seen in collections much less artwork, it is one of the world's most impressive species.
