Lanternfly Mosaic 24x30 (CO-3)
Latin America and Southeast Asia, 24" x 30"
Lanternflies are an almost iconic bug in many tropical parts of the world because of their luscious, muted colors as well as their singular morphology. The bizarre projection that appears to be an elongated snout actually emanates from the top of the head.
The common name "Lanternfly" stems from the erroneous belief held for centuries that the bugs were capable of illuminating these mysterious, hollow cones.
